Skateboarding is all about KIDS. As you will see in the following galleries there are lots of kids who enjoy the sport and there are many that just like to watch. If you attend a skateboard competition you will find the kids are supported by thier parents and the community at large. The Bellingham Washington faicilty was a joint effort of all the skateboarders, parents and the city parks and recreation department.
If you don't have a place for the Skateboarders to skate in your community it's time for you to take a look around and see about building one. Although there are always a few people who would deface or abuse the facility the vast majority of the kids just want to use it and enjoy one of best individule sports around.
Russ Scholfield was one of those kids. Tragically killed in an automobile accident his parents provide the work to see the Classic happens each year. This was the Fifth Annual Classic. Thanks, Mr and Mrs. Scholfield. You are turly making a difference.
The photos in these galleries are for sale at very reasonable cost. I take them so the parents can watch the event and not worry about missing the shot they want. Sometimes I include a photo that may not be up to standard quality and focus because I shoot them for the kids and their families and sometimes it is the action and trick that is important to them. I attempt to catch the experience of the event and the participants so they can look at them and know how to improve a skill or a move. Keep improving kids and I will keep shooting. I hope you find some of the pictures to be "sick." Let me know what you think.
